Definition – Apple Earphones are attached in-ear audio devices designed and manufactured by the company Apple. It fits in or over the ear and produces sound waves. Apple’s current product line consists of Earpods with a (3.5mm or Lightning) and they’re designed with a traditional earbud structure and are compatible with iPhones, iPads,  and Mac computers, depending on the connector type. A few models of Apple earphones are Apple earpods with 3.5 mm headphone plug, Apple Earpods with Lightning connector, Airpods (2nd ,3rd) generation , airpods pro max and many more. In this technical description, I am going to talk about Apple Airpods pro (2nd generation). 

Function – Apple Airpods pro (2nd generation)  can be used in many ways and it serves a vital function. The functions are listed below – 

1. Convenient/hands free –  Apple airpods pro (2nd generation) provide a hands-free experience that facilitates multitasking. For example it allows the user to make/receive calls, listen to music on their phones whether they are exercising, walking , running or even while traveling without making any disruptions and providing clear audio. 
2. Receiving calls – Apple airpods pro (2nd generation)  allow its users to make or receive calls without even being closer to the phone. Because the Apple airpods have microphones so it allows the user to know who’s calling him and he can pick it up just by listening to it. As it’s bluetooth connected, it lets the user be handsfree and also at the same time the person can be multitasking and performing other chores. 
3. Audio listening – The main purpose of Apple airpods is enabling users to tune in to audio from their electronic devices. The airpods contain little  speakers inside the earbuds that are called drivers, that vibrate to produce sound and that makes the sound quality precise and even, making it suitable for a variety of entertainment.
4. Sharing audio – Apple airpods allows two different sets of airpods to connect to a single device. It’s a unique feature of the Apple airpods pro (2nd generation). 
5. Longevity and ease of transport – As the airpods are not that heavy and durable that makes it carry anywhere and everywhere without having a hassle and suitable for daily use.

Overview

1. Design/shape – Apple airpods pro (2nd generation)  have a sleek white color with a minimalistic design with silicone ear tips that comes in three sizes. The weight of each airpod is 5.3 grams (0.19 ounces) and the charging case is 50.8 grams (1.79 ounces). The height , width and depth of each airpod is 30.9mm (1.22 inches) , 21.8mm (0.86 inches), 24.0 mm (0.94 inches). The height, width and depth of the charging case is 45.2 mm (1.78 inches), 60.6 mm (2.39 inches), 21.7 mm (0.85 inches). It is developed to accommodate most ear shapes and has the ability to wear it for a longer period of time without making the user uncomfortable.

2. Convenience/Comfort – The apple earpods are designed to fit into any form of ears without having an issue. Not only that it helps the user to wear it for a longer period of time without even stressing about it coming off the ears. 

3. Types of apple earphones – They got many but here I’m listing the most used ones 

1. Apple airpods (wireless) – These are wireless and it has many versions. For example – it has apple airpods 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation and it has airpods pro and airpods max. All of them require it to connect it to the bluetooth. 
2. Apple Earpods (wired) – These ones are wired and it is available in two different versions. One with a 3.5 mm headphone jack and another with a lighting connector. 

4. Portability and Durability – Apple earphones are lightweight and easy to carry everywhere. Another thing about apple earphones is they are made of durable materials so even if they fall off from hand, it won’t break easily because of its durability. 

5. Budget friendly – Apple earphones are not that expensive compared to higher end earphones and that makes it affordable to its consumers. Not only are they budget friendly, but also they provide a good quality of sound and clear audio. 

Components 

1. Speakers – The airpods have small speakers inside and create the sound users hear, including music to phone calls.
2. Connector – Depending on the version of the earphones it can be a 3.5 mm headphone or a lightning connector. 
3. Microphone – It allows the user to use Siri or voice commands. Not only that it allows the user to not hold your phone all the time and lets the user be hands free and allows him to multitask. 
4. Cable – It helps the airpods  to work effectively. Not only that it’s easy to carry and it’s flexible. So, the user can use it everyday without even having the fear that it will break easily. 

These components function together to process view commands, send sound, and keep the connection. All these components work together to hear the sound clearly and deliver clear audio and the user can talk or listen to music all day without having any inconvenience.

Conclusion/supplemental – In conclusion, Apple Inc. has produced and sold headphones since 2001, available for standalone purchase and bundled with Iphone (until 2020) and Ipod (until 2022) products. Apple airpods prices make it affordable for its customers to buy it. Not only it costs less but it provides a good service based on its price. It’s pretty affordable compared to the higher end earphones.According to Apple website the price of Apple airpods pro is $249. But there are cheaper prices available at Amazon and Walmart starting at $199.  Another thing I want to mention about apple earphones is their life span and it depends on how you sustain it. With good care, the apple earphones can last 3-4 years.
